Set time bound goals - Habits of success series

 

Numerous researchers have suggested that goal setting process can be very effective in achieving success in major areas of life. People who set goals outperform people who do not set goals in almost all areas of life. Successful people set short-term, medium-term, and long-term goals for all major areas of life i.e. relationship, career, business, health, spiritual, fun etc. While setting goals, you should keep in mind following things-

1.       Goals should be written in present tense.
              E.g., I am the CEO of XYZ.
              I have a 900 sq. ft. house.
2.       You should have about 4-5 goals for each area of your life. The goals should be complementary to and compatible with one another.
3.       Your goals should be divided into three categories based on their likely time of completion: short term, medium term, and long-term goals.
4.       You should always specify starting time and finishing time for each goal.

5.       You should keep most of your goals secret. (You can reveal few goals to very close people or to the people who can help you achieve those goals.
