Story - Visualization Series
Story journaling is a very powerful visualization and goal
setting technique. Its results are fast
and accurate, but you have to do it consistently for at least 30 days for consistent and good results. Many people leave
this journaling process withing 2 days of starting it, thinking that it is not
producing any results immediately. In most cases, Results of their 2 days
practice become visible after 20-30 days of starting the practice. So I recommend you to give this process at least 30 days before doubting its validity.
Story journaling is a very
easy process though it requires sufficient creativity
and focuses on your part. You can be creative while journaling by considering the whole process
as a funny and challenging game and
enjoying it to the fullest. By assuming it a fun game, you will also increase
the probability of continuing it for 30 days or more. I consider all problems
in work particular and life in general as fun and challenging games, and
results of these games as scores. In this way,
you will enjoy the journey irrespective of the results you get and destinations
you reach. If you will postpone fun and
enjoyment until you achieve certain results; you will be happy and fulfilled
for a brief period in your entire lifetime.
So what is story journaling?
It is journaling your daily life as you
want it to be, ignoring present realities and environment. You have to write daily journals, preferably 1 or 2 hours before going to bed, describing in detail the
entire day; what it would have been like if you were living your desired life. You must write a journal in present tense and minute details. And fill it with emotions and senses, your
results will be more satisfying and will come fast. In this journal write about
the imaginary people interacted with and emotions you felt when meeting them.
Remember to be true to your desires and write your journal with all the
emotions you can conjure up. You should include in your story relationships,
health state, financial status you desire.
Here is a part of sample story (Recreated) I wrote a few years back-
I was lying in a very comfortable bed when my girlfriend
brought me a cup of tea. After drinking tea, I did 20-minute meditation in my study room. Then, I did yoga and light aerobic exercises. After that, I
checked last day’s sales reports of my XYZ business
and found that I have made a net profit
of $1500 on yesterday’s sales. To increase the sales, I sent an instructive email to my marketing executive.
You got the idea, I used to write these type of stories every
night. So now, it is your time to write something fancy.
