Super Self-image - Visualization Series
The science of
automatic control systems in living and non-living things is called Cybernetics.
Dr. Maxwell Maltz made popular the
subject of psycho-cybernetics in his book “Psycho-Cybernetics” published in
1960. Each of us is controlled by the mental
picture we hold of ourselves. This mental picture of ourselves is self-image. We always try to be consistent with our
self-image. Our mind uses self-image as an input
to our cybernetic system. It consistently compares our current results and
state with our self-image and then corrects
our behavior and habits to produce results that match with our self-image. So
we can change our behavior, thoughts, and
life by changing our self-image. Limited self-image limits life and empowered self-image result in happy and satisfied life. It will be
hard for you to be a professor after graduating if you have a self-image of the
lower-grade student. So if you want to be
a professor, understand and copy the beliefs and behavior of a top performing
student. These new beliefs will make you aware of your own self-limiting
beliefs, which were the main cause of
your poor performance in studies. Initially,
it may be hard for you to study like top performing students and get good
results, but if you continue to assimilate their thinking patterns, beliefs,
and ideas, eventually you will find yourself at the top of your class.
The differences of
beliefs between you and top performing students will slowly decrease, and soon
you will become the best performing student. You can apply this process in any
area of your life, to get the desired results.
