Acronyms




An acronym is a short word used for a group of words. The acronym is created by combining the first one or two letters of all the words into a short word. This short word is not only easy to remember but also provides a hint to recall all words represented by it. For example, ASAP is an acronym of “As Soon As Possible”. The acronym is simply abbreviated form of a group of words.
Some useful acronyms are listed below:

 LOL – Laughing Out Loud
NATO – North Atlantic Treaty Organization
OSHA - Occupational Safety and Health Administration
UNESCO – United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization




So to remember a list of words, you can create an acronym representing all words in the list.
