Guided Reading
Initially, you have to use the guided reading technique to increase your reading speed. Guided reading process is similar to the process that we discussed in blog post “avoiding regression”. It is necessary to develop the habit of speed reading. You can personalize these techniques to suit your circumstances.
You can use a pen to guide your eyes. Initially, move the tip/nib at slow speed to accustom your eyes and brain to a regression less reading. After reading approximately 100 pages in this way, gradually increase the speed of the nib. Don’t think about comprehension at this time, just focus on speed. After some time, your brain will get accustomed to doing regression less fast reading.
You can also use hand to hide the text you have already read to avoid regression. A paper or box can also be used to hide the text.
