Eating and Drinking - Habits of success series
Successful people are very conscious of their eating habits.
Our eating habits affect our brain’s capabilities and health. Healthy eating
and daily exercise are essential for a healthy brain. Good food not only
improves brain’s functioning power but also keep it healthy in the old age. If
you eat healthy food, it can help protect your brain from many medical
conditions including hemorrhage, Alzheimer's disease,
and dementia.
Foods to avoid (At least
minimize their consumption):
Meat and Fish
Dairy products including milk (Especially Ghee, Butter and
other process products.)
Sugar and Oil (Except Vegetable/ olive oil in small amount)
Foods to include in
your diet:
Vegetables: Broccoli, Lettuce, Cucumber, parsley, kale
etc. Especially include green and leafy
vegetables like spinach and beans
Fruits: Bananas, Pomegranates, Mangos, Apple, Grapes
Dry Fruits: Raisins, Dates, Prunes, Figs
Nuts and seeds:
Walnuts, Almonds (Soak in water before use), Pistachios
Whole Grain: Corn, Oats, Barley, Wheat, Rice
Oils: Only olive oil or vegetable oil in the appropriate amount.
Water: Our brain is 76% water, so keep hydrated; 2 liters of
water daily is recommended by most doctors. But it may vary according to your
work and climate. Keep in mind to drink 1-3 glasses of water immediately after
waking up. And then carry a water bottle everywhere you go.
Other things to keep
in mind:
Buy and use copper, iron, aluminum free cookware.
Do not take mineral and vitamin pills/powder on daily basis.

Only B12 vitamin should be taken from external sources if
you are on a Vegan diet. (Consult a doctor before taking these pills)
Avoid packaged and processed food. (Less processed food is
always better)
Avoid
all fast foods, pizza etc. (especially if it is not made in the home, It not only cost you economically but
also deteriorates your health.)
